I'm desperately looking for help for my once in a lifetime CO 66 muzzy elk tag. I'm struggling. I helped my buddy get a bull here 5 years ago but things have changed since then. The areas we've hunted in the past either have other hunters or the trails or blocked by rock slides. Also there's way more downed timber than 5 years ago. I had to turn around and head back to the truck this morning for my safety it was so dangerous.
I'm willing to pay a modest trespass fee to get on some elk. Or if a local hunter to take me out I'll share half the meat etc.
The couple areas i scouted the days before season had almost zero elk sign. I havent heard a bulge in 4 days.

Text Tim at 6514382987 signal is spotty here. I'm camping around the Red Gulch area.

Tim if you are hunting an area with no elk, too many hunters, too difficult access and are in fear of your safety - immediately move to more moderate terrain so you can actually hunt. That's the only answer. Elk are probably all over in different pockets by now. Look for public/private boundary opportunities. I sent you a text where I saw a bunch of elk when passing by your unit the other day. Good Luck.

Great advise. There is elk everywhere. People think they r any in certain parts but in reality they r all over sometimes in areas u would expect
