Hi folks, my name is Wayde and this fall I will be going on an OTC elk hunt in western CO in one of these units: 21,22,30,31. I have been trying to narrow down which area to focus on and am seeking some advice. It will be my second elk hunt (first is WY in Sept.) and I am going from Nov 6-12. I exchanged emails with one of the guys in local government in Rangely and he was very nice and gave me some information regarding unit 21. I've also looked at the Colorado Hunting Atlas to assess the private vs. public land situation. I also plan on calling the local biologist soon. What other avenues should I use to gather information about where to go and what unit to choose? I greatly appreciate any help you're willing to give.
