That can't be, CPW is only interested in fleecing hunters for every penny they can get <sarcasm>.

Probably the people that have things happen between application deadline and the hunting season, you know, like 'a-hole' relatives that plan weddings in the Fall...or start dying from cancer...or get laid off...

No refunds (outside of death of tag holder or close relative) pay in full when you apply. Just like WY and NM and and and

Or just lose your points no matter what... It's not really about the money for me, the state get's that money when they re-issue the tag. It's the thousands of points that don't get 'spent' every year because of this stupid system.

My dad died in 2017, right before the season from cancer... I spent points on the tag. No refunds.

Based on what I recall from when this was presented to the commission, the a-holes of origin was a committee made up of CPW staff and not the public.
