college baseball

I live less than 5 minutes from it. Was less than 2 miles before they moved from Rosenblatt. It’s not the same since it moved, I enjoy watching it from the comfort of my chair in the A/C. No shortage of good steak houses in the area; for the money, I prefer the roadhouse lol.
I went the last couple of years it was at Rosenblatt and haven’t been since it moved. That atmosphere around Rosenblatt was pretty special with everyone having parties in their yards, Starsky’s bar, etc. I remember being in an old church that they had turned into a bar and had a band playing in.

My farm was literally just across the river in Iowa from Rosenblatt. As a kid, my dad would just drop us off before the game. Afterwards, we’d start walking towards the south Omaha bridge and he’d just pick us up some where along the way. Stark ya is still there, but it’s been closed for years. The old Zestos is now some Mexican restaurant. The zoo is still there and always expanding and thriving. It seemed like back in the day at Rosenblatt, fans came because they were fans of baseball and loved the game. Now that it’s downtown, it’s the trendy thing to do. People that couldn’t tell you more than 3 teams in the series flock to downtown to get wasted, buy some over priced t shirt and snap some selfies in front of the statue in from of Schwab field to post on social media.

A few days ago my wife asked what I wanted to do for Father’s Day. I told her to buy me a big ribeye to grill, and then take the kids and go somewhere all day so I can grill my steak and sit and watch the CWS on tv in peace. She didn’t agree with my choice….

That Georgia/Mississippi State game yesterday was awesome.

Rooting for West Virginia here, one of my sons old pitching training buddies from his summer/fall club is a freshman there.
I’ve spent the past few weekends in Athens for regional and super regionals. The Miss State series was a great one. Go Dawgs

I didn’t think Starksys would last after Rosenblatt went away.

I understand your pain BeavNation , u guys got the shaft in realignment
What Chris really means is that we understand...with a grin.
Always good to see the Orange walk off the field in disbelief but I'm gonna really miss some of the Civil Wars in all sports. It's a family event up our way about equally split in sides. :(

In my mind, the CWS is easily the most underrated college sports scene in existence. Why this event isn’t a bigger deal is beyond me. The top-of-the-page toolbar at espn.com doesn’t even contain a direct college baseball link right now. I’ll never understand.
I completely agree with this. I'm a big baseball fan, whether it's MLB or college but the college games are some of the most intense, passion filled games you will ever see. Guys pitching 130 pitches one day and coming in and throwing another inning the next, is nothing but heart and love for those in the same clubhouse. Pulling for WVU.

Kentucky fan here. Go to Hell, Mountaineers.
West Virgina always gets the cold shoulder in every sport and every aspect for that matter. We can finally get some recognition somewhere. Those games were great games and that closing pitcher for Kentucky was pretty good.
