Been watching Jeff Phillips video, concentrate and repetitive. Hope to go back to nz in Dec for a bull tahr. Concentrate and repetitive, that's what I'll be mumbling until then.

Cold shot at 60 last night. I haven’t been shooting as much as I wanted to this summer, but can hopefully pick it up from here on out.. at least once I get back from AK lol

Ok, I broke down and got my bow out. 2000 Mathew's Legacy. Hasn't seen daylight since maybe October of 2021. No excuses needed but I guess I need new glasses. When I close my left eye to aim things are a little blurry. Oh well.

20 yards measured and a little breezy. 1st shot in almost 4 years.

Look into Precision cut archery sight tapes. I’m super impressed with the accuracy of the one on my wife’s bow

Well, I installed new string/cables Monday and ran a couple dozen arrows to settle things in. Tied in my peep and half-ass paper tuned yesterday. Sent one at 20 to see where my sights were and it hit slight low and right. Backed up to 40 and this is my three shot result. Very happy with it considering where I was at a week ago. I’ll start walking my sight in and post a true cold shot tomorrow

Cold shot at 70 tonight. Haven’t adjusted my sight yet. Wanted to see how it compared at longer ranges. Everything looks pretty consistent, given the longer range. Ready to dial in those sights now.

Side note: I shot an illuminated nocked arrow immediately after this one and it hit 9” directly below this one. Crazy that 9 grains at the back of the arrow effects drop that much, but those arrows clock 5fps slower very consistently.

1st shot - green arrow: at 73yds, slider set to 78 and held high aiming at the center. Seems like past 70 the drop is so much that it takes that much to compensate
2nd shot - yellow arrow: at 54yds, slider set to 54, aimed dead center
3rd shot - red arrow: at 42yds, sight back in original position, 44yds pin held on that bottom left dot

We had several rather windy days so no practise, today a lovely good to be alive day, before heading down to work the tractor i got the bow out and did this, about as tight as ive ever done but scratching my head as to why they hit high?

Probably cause you held high

Honesty is the best policy

Will have some great cold shots soon I’d guess. Going all bow nerdy compared to usual, this early.

The cold shots are what matter.

Here was my first shot using correct pin at 80.

These are not true “cold” shots but a group at 120 to verify my tape, etc. I was getting a little fletching contact.
