CO best elk hunting State???

I was talking with the local CPW Biologist the other day and asked him how about we adopt Montana's season structure for Colorado.

So this fine biologist went on to lecture me how that was a bad idea because Colorado with its OTC tags gives it "Residents" the most elk hunting opportunities of all the western states.

Call me stupid, but would you Montana boys give up your 11 week season and block management program for our extremely "short, crowded, choose your method of take, all private ground leased" type opportunity? Just curious?

Hey I just thought it was funny that he was doing his best to convince me that Colorado was better than Montana or Wyoming just because I can buy an OTC tag. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought MT & WY were OTC for residents too in addition to they're longer seasons
