will be joining a brother on his elk trip to unit 48. got some solid info from dau, websites and talking to cpw officials... hats off to them. diy hunt, looks to be some steep country so the hikes will be interesting. just wanted to toss a note to the forum to see if anyone has any thoughts / tips / insights about the unit.

I hunted 48 for 10 years, send me a pm. Great unit. We killed two huge bulls and a handful of cows.

My friends bull from unit 48. Third season 2007. The date was wrong on my camera.

This is my son's bull from third season 2009 unit 48. My camera date is still wrong. My best day of hunting ever....guiding my son to this bull. All the timber in the background is forest service .

Wow those are two great bulls, congrats to your friend, son, and you. I hope we run into something like that... although I'd be quite happy with something less. Beautiful scenery too.
