They release chukars at some shooting farms outside of Dillon. I see them loose on a regular basis. There's a few that seem to survive well in country that just screams chukar habitat. One day I'll get one shot. We bump into them all the time on the Salmon River so it wouldn't be a stretch for them to end up following the West Fork Bitterroot down.

I know that there was a breeding pair sold during the 4H small animal auction this year. So some folks are raising them in the valley...

I saw that rabbit story. Better ways to get rid of them. The chukar I saw are out near Sleeping Child. I think they could survive out here. mtmuley
