Finally recieved some much needed rain last week. Over 2" in my rain gauge but after being housebound for three days we went out sunday in spite of more rain in the forcast.
It rained as advertised

a sight for sore (dry) eyes

Steve and I managed to pick up a few

Next day was bright and clearso we headed to a different area

Filaree, quail food0

Pretty country

But you still have to watch out for the stickers

Steve did OK

This is what the one quail I shot at would have looked like IF I had downed more than just feathers. (Thank you Steve for the loan of one of your birds).

Went out wednesday and Steve and Dusty had another good day.

Nice hunt, one day I hope to pack the dogs up and head out there to chase gambols one day. Congrats on the beautiful birds.
