I loved fishing with cane poles as a kid. Quarantine boredom led my dad and I to cut down some bamboo and make our own poles. We thought it would be hilarious to cut a 15 foot rod and try to hook one of the stripers that feeds on shad off the end of the dock each night. Much fun was had.
That’s awesome, my grandpa who introduced me to fishing as a kid always told me about how growing up on the Ohio River he fished with a cane pole as a kid. Years After he passed away I made one and used to cherry pick catfish from the reeds fly lining mackerel in to the holes.. haven’t done it in years but it was always fun.
