Here's my backpack rifle buck from this past August. I killed this in the county I live in (Santa Barbara) about 8 miles from the trailhead. I have bowhunted this area for a few years and this is the best and oldest buck I have seen back there. I hope we finally get the rain that they have been talking about and this area will be getting even better.

Ahhh, the A-Zone...remember it well farther north of you. Took alot of old regressive tight racks and forkies.
Nice SB buck. Guess you don't get PO?

I learned to save weight in my pack for this area and just wipe with the PO, it really motivates me to cover ground and hike out with that heavy pack a little faster!

I get purtier every day Rancho!

LOL....BC is that you? Rancho too? TOFers?

I have some great black & red racks...PO stains from rubbing.Boots stained black from the juice.
I never got it much and was in that sh!t everyday. I do not miss the heat/humidity and the oak thickets.Or the folks that took over.

That's a good public land buck for the Los Padres! The national forest terrain in SB county can be nasty! I grew up in Santa Ynez and lived in SB a while too...

Oh, and I'm not allergic to PO, made my hunting there a lot easier :)

Gawd, I love hearing that one.. You just know that is going to literally bite someone in the ass.

It's true, I could break a leaf in half and rub it on my skin without getting the rash. I do know you can develop the allergy eventually, but I never did...haven't pushed my luck with the poison ivy where I live now though!

Yeah payback was a bitch growing up .....for the other guy
I'd rub leaves on those that did me wrong...lol

I started getting it some after putting in miles of vineyard & cattle fence on the central coast, like getting injected thru the scratches on my arms.
Had a buddy who heard if you ate a little leaf you would get immune,he wound up in hospital looking like a pumpkin. His brother could just walk right thru the stuff.
