I appreciate everyone's thoughts on this thread. I spent more time and effort, and handled each and every one of these 44 mags. I dry fired all of them and saw how each one fit in my hand.

Lovely roscoe. Looking forward to hearing how it shoots!
The 360 pd is not super fun with heavy buffalo bore 357 loads. Only shot two or three rounds, which was enough to go back to "normal" 357 mag and BB heavy SWC 38 +p. The 44 mag Model 329 pd apparently has stout recoil which is probably why there are usually some low round count 329s for sale on Gunbroker. The newer S&W 69 Combat 44 mag people say has a bit more felt recoil than the 629.
That should be a fun gun. After you run a box of shells through it give us a report.
Its like a cross between the Unibomber and Maverick. Absolutely needs necked down to an avatar.
I own a bunch of Rugers, but I'm an old colt pony guy so I gave my nod to the Anaconda.... but I'd have liked to see the Dan Wesson 44 listed by name....
killed a moose and lots of pocky's with my SBH.. (hey.. you use what ya got)....
They are much like the Anaconda, but with the interchangeable barrel system.. they are large but have a really great grip system... I've got a number of old, old colts.. but none of the newer stuff.... so far....I totally agree. Use whatever you have at the time. I had my SRH Ruger in MT and killed a muley doe at 64 yards with it. That 9.5inch barrel is almost like a rifle. Weighted perfectly.
This is my first ever Colt so I am looking forward to owning.
In regards to the Dan Wesson, I have never held one.
