Putting in a 100 yard range in my back yard. What would you use for a back stop ?

I just have a Dirt pile, about 7 1/2' high & 15' wide.
I put in 2 - 4x4x8' posts 8' apart, and a 4'x8'x1/2" piece of OSB with a couple of 2x4x8 for support attached to the back and bolted it to the posts.
I set it up for a Pistol range marked at 2,3,4,7,10 and 15 yards.
and 100 and 200 yards for rifles.
I am teaching my Wife to shoot, so it sure beats having to run to a Range some place.

Get some old railroad ties to make a box out of, Then fill the middle with dirt. Lasts for 50 years or better.

X2 on railroad ties. Make a "U" shape with the ends opened up a bit. Mound dirt on the backside. You can use it for rifle or three gun challenge.

My dirt tank dam works and has critters to shoot too occationally....damn rodents. But I don't like to shoot around my place much except during elk season now.
I do like the local range tho, empty usually.

Got a guy getting me some Rail Road ties in a couple of weeks.Should be able to make something out of them.
