Broken Fibula

Do you get your medical advice from @Dave N?
Full disclosure. I didn't get my knee fixed because I couldn't have surgery due to taking care of my wife, plus at the time we didn't have the 3K for my deductibles and co-pays. When I tore the ACL in my other knee the ortho said one option was to leave it and strengthen the muscles around it. So I just rolled with it this time and worked on my strength. But, I broke my hand twice and both times went to work the next day. A couple broken toes. Put my boots on and went to work. Sciatic nerve flare-up I took 10 Tylenols at a time 3 times a day. So I could go to work. Cut my finger real bad, at work, and used SuperGlue and Bandaids to fix it instead of going to medical and probably get fired for not wearing gloves while working and cutting myself with my knife. When I FINALLY made an appointment (online) to see a doctor I was still in Wyoming. The next morning the nurse called and said I should go to the ER. Told her I was in Wyoming and wasn't doing that while out of state. Guess I'm stubborn. But now I've been poked, prodded, drained of blood, run ragged, x-rayed and scanned until I was blue in the face! I have a heart event monitor stuck to my chest for the next month. 2 more tests scheduled and a prescription for high cholesterol. Soooooooo, sure. I just sucked it up when I was younger. But now I have to admit I ain't 25 anymore and get things checked out. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Well The Ortho took one look at the Xraay and said "YEEEAAAAHHHHH we're gonna have to fix that......his concern was the difference in distance between the bones in the main joint area that "indicated instability in the joint" Him main concern was that that compression there could create arthritis later on and "you are too young for that"

Good thing is both the Monday film and the one 9 days later looked the same so nothing moved.

Just got the estimate from the surgery center and gross cost of the procedure is $90 K plus. Called my insurance and they assured me I have met my out of pocket maximum and this in Network Doctor and Facility should be covered 100% . Wrote down the Representatives name and interaction number if there is any dispute....

Surgery scheduled for Tuesday...

That was my first thought, fairly obvious syndesmotic injury in your X-ray (worse than the break). Good luck with your recovery @2rocky👍
