Boots for extra wide feet?

There are plenty of really good boot makers out there. But everyone's foot is different. The few times I've spent lots on "high end" boots, the best my feet felt was the day I walked barefoot to tossed those overpriced things in the garbage can. I've tossed a few $500 boots in the trash after arguing with customer service. I gave up and just buy cheap every single year.

It's a me issue. I have a very wide and short foot. Does anyone have recommendations? At this point I've given up and just order wide Danners every year, wear them for a year, toss them. But this year was super wet... 5 days of wet blown out boots and wet feet. Anyone have a similar issue? Recommendations? As you can see from photos I bought "wide'' and still blew out both sides.

The reason I'm asking is I've tried a lot of brands... they all happily say, "oh our boots will be the best ever! Just try them! Full return!''

I buy and wear for 3 months. Good break in period. Still hurt or blown out.

"Well it's beyond our warranty period...."

I’ve got really wide feet with deep arches and have been comfortable and done well with Crispi Nevadas in wide with Superfeet Green. I think I’m going to try Hoffman’s next, not that I have any complaints about the Crispis. It’s just that some guys I trust have really good things to say about Hoffman’s, and their wide boots are supposed to be wide enough.

I'm a 12, 4E.
I can't find anything really and do something similar and by Dunhams and hope to get a year. Usually don't.
You might try Lathrop. Last time I spoke to them they were going to get in some private label boots in wide sizes.

Meindel’s! I was gonna get a half size bigger AND wide but they say German sizes run big. so i got my normal size in wide and im glad I did they fit awesome and theres a ton of room in the footbox. They weren’t as waterproofed as kenetrek or lowa out of the box (I always do a splash test, flicking the sink on) so I treated them out of the box. They are a touch on the heavier side but I intend on them being my winter boot since there’s so much extra room for a decent sock.

I think you feel my pain... $50, $200, $600. They all hurt, leak, and wear out in the same time frame. It's just a matter of miles per ouch at this point.

Crispi was my next try. I found a pair at a yard sale by miracle in my size that I walked around in for a bit. Still bit my pinky toe but the rest felt ok. Cripsi is probably my next try unless otherwise persuaded.

Were they in their wide size? If so, and they were still bugging one of your toes, I'd look elsewhere. Foot comfort isn't something I'd compromise on when it comes to hunting. Weddings though? Cockroach crushers or die.

I grew up a skateboarder in the 90s man! big ol baggy pants and what my family and I call “beetle stompers”

Yes. Mostly worn out. But I was willing to try at yard sale price. Lysol and waited a few minutes. As you can see my pinky toe is already curved under. But they still kind of hurt.

Ah... the JNCO jeans and unlaced shoes...

I welded so many a truck together in shop and added 1/8 bar to the bottom of the truck for you guys to grind on rails... almost got in trouble until my shop teacher pointed out I also re-welded the rails...

I am double or triple e and found schnees to work. I tried danners but did not find wide enough.

I'm a wide short'ish feet guy (11 wide) and I have great luck with Schnees boots in wide. If you are really wide it might be worth going a half size up. Not sure where you live but trying on would be best. No other mainstream boot companies (that you can buy at REI or Dicks or similar) have a wide that works for me.

I went with Crispi boots this time as well. 11 EE is my size and these seem a to fit the bill. I feel your pain on the wide foot. You may want to try a custom pair of White's boots out of Spokane. I've heard they build them to your foot, might be worth a call to them.

I got Fred Flintstone feet. 12 EE with a very broad forefoot and prone to Plantar Fasciitis. Have a hammer toe on my right foot that can give me fits if the boot isn't roomy in the toe box. I've been happy with the Kenetrek Hardscrabble in the 12 wide, getting about 2-3 seasons on a pair before needing to be resoled. My PF is gone. I'll generally resole once, then get a new pair as the uppers break down.

The latest pair I have are 5 years old on their second soles. They're just now starting to lose their waterproof ability. I wear them daily, as well as for hunting/hiking etc. I'm hell on boots as a Brobdingnagian and most other shoes/boots don't last a year.

After years of sore feet from boots not wide enough I had a pair for summer work custom made by Nick's Boot's in Spokane. I still wear them when doing work around the ranch. New soles and upgraded twice in thirty years and never sore feet! Well worth the custom made price.

I'd seriously consider buying some "made to fit" boots from someone like Russel or similar.
There are quite a few boot makers that will build them specifically for you.

I've got some crispi boots that are pretty comfortable, and much more durable than my danners. My daily drivers are lems boulder boots. They take some getting used to because they don't have a heel but once you get used to then they're the most comfortable thing ever. As a bonus, the boulder boots are super light and flexible, which makes them some absolute ninja slippers in the turkey woods.

X2 The Meindl boots are amazing and truly do fit a wide foot. I wear 14EE and they’re awesome. No more smashing/compressing the little toe.

I just got my first pair of Meindl's- Comfort Fit Hunters. I do NOT have wide feet, so can't help there, but they do have a wider toe box than my Schnee's. Might be worth a try. Hope you find a good solution!
