Blue grouse live hunt

I went for three days grouse hunting and I had a rare oppertunity for some great pictures. This first is Gretta and me.

My friend Dell, saw two birds in the shade of the tree. I swung gretta down wind.

This picture is one bird flushing and I am shooting.

This next one is bird in the bag.

This next one is Gretta finding bird number 2.

In this picture you can see the bird circled in red.

The bird is running on her!

Here is a close up of bird running!

I shot this bird and I have pictures but I am only allowed 8 pictures per topic.

1-pointer, Blue grouse are great eating birds. About the same as ruffed grouse or pheasant. Ron

Looks like you put lots of time in with the pup and its paid off.

My GSP often locks up tight when a cripple is running out right from under her nose. I've lost a few pheasants that way. Has anyone found a way to get a pointer to run down a cripple?

Its less a problem now that I moved away from pheasant country. Chuckars aren't as leggy.
