Wow. I've seen pics of deer that were obviously darker than normal, but never one that was pitch-black like that. If it wasn't for the antlers I'd call BS and say it was some exotic species.
Cool pic! When I was in college a guy who lived in my same apartment building killed a black 2 point muley buck. He killed it somewhere in northern Nevada, but I don't know the exact area. He was wanting to kill a bigger deer, but said that after watching it a while, he decided it was unique and decided to shoot it.
He was told by a biologist that the black ones are VERY rare. He ended-up getting a full body mount done of it. I think he was going to put it on display somewhere in NV. This was over 15 years ago, so my memory is a little foggy (college, you know... ).
