Bird hunting closed today in Baker county.Heavy snow forced the birds down to where they were pretty vulnerable.I think it was a good call by ODFW.The bright side is if there is no major winter kill and if there is a good hatch this spring, next year will be great hunting.Lots of birds out there now.

Good decision. I bought a few 50 lb. sacks of cracked corn and spread them around in a few places I'd been hunting. I could see the birds were in trouble and I'm hoping having some easy food might help some of them make it thru the tough times. Quail, especially, need help. It's really not wise to chase any birds around where the conditions are bad and make them waste a lot of energy.
