We don't only grow em big here in Pa. but we may have the most prolific breeders in north america. with 3 the norm, 4 cubs is not that rare with 5 not being unheard of. These are behind my house in the frog pond

Interesting, in that you guys don’t allow baiting over there. We’re told a lot of our sows here in WI have high numbers of cubs. Some folks around here then want to blame that on the bait placed by hunters. They say all the bait artificially inflates bear numbers.

Our biologists aren't quite sure why but apparently this state has the right mix to allow the bruins to prosper. They're in almost every county and your right, no baiting or dogs. Just good old hard hunting.
