My wife and I have contacted several outfitters in Saskatchewan regarding booking a deer hunt in 2027. Americans must use the services of a licensed outfitter for hunting big game there. We are narrowing down the week we want to hunt. I’m looking for input from members with experience hunting in Saskatchewan.

Your best three options are as followed:
1. the rut;
2. the rut; and
3. the rut.

Personally, I'd pick anything between 15 Nov and 7 Dec. Snow fall usually puts a damper on things, but chances are you'll be hunting over bait with an outfitter so that shouldn't really be an issue. Sk isn't what it used to be and last year was by far my worst whitetail hunting year to date and the first time I didn't punch a whitetail tag in 15 years. I would definitely ask the outfitter how the herd is doing but know that trophy quality might suck donkeys.

Which outfitter are you looking at going with? (feel free to PM). Funny enough, headed back to my old stomping grounds this fall to hunt Eastern Townships whitetails!

Most will just lie to you and continue to book you regardless of the resource, just like typical dirtbag outfitters in the States.

IF they rut similar to Alberta Whitetails, then Thanksgiving week is "Dick in the Dirt" slobbering time. (from my one week in Northern Alberta as an observer)

I also seem to remember Nothern Idaho Whitetail success being good that week too many years ago.

Saskhunter's comment about last year being so poor echoes what my neighbors who do an annual hunt in Sask said as well.

I think that working with any of the well known booking agent groups would be worthwhile since they seem to really create the "repeat business" motivation with their outfitter and hunter clients.

I will be with my father and uncle outside of Havre, MT at that time this fall.

I like early
November. Seem to daylight a bit better but still hang around the area. Later in the season never know where they will be. I always try to get one spot up north further cause can get the earlier season dates
