Depending on how far southeast you are talking, the Dawg house pub in Ekalaka has good food, and there are a couple places in Baker that has good food as well. Miles City has a good steak place, but the name escapes me at the moment.

If they are still in business, the bar in Plevna had prime rib every other Saturday a few years back and it was excellent.
There was a big pipeline project going on then and some other oil development in the area, so there were actually a fair amount of people around to spend money there. Not sure if they are still doing that or even in business today. If they are, check them out.

not really south east but the gateway at ft peck dam has a steak worth driving for.
