Im curious what everyone else is encountering out in the woods, in my neighborhood (western MT), I have been seeing a pretty abysmal berry crop. Likely the last cold snap towards the end of June that caused this? I wonder if there are bands high or low that survived where the berries either set or hadnt flowered yet?

I also read that the Flathead cherry crop is really hit or miss depending on the location. Wettest spring and early summer I have seen in decades but it looks like the heat is in route. Bummer for the berries. I’m curious about the grouse hatch this year too.

We’re seeing a below average huckleberry crop starting to show. We’ll see about thimbleberry. Seems like they might’ve been zapped.

The cold snap in late spring wiped out the chokecherry, June berry and sand plums in SE MT. bummer.
Also got the cotton from the cottonwood trees.

I lost fruit from my cherry, apple, plum and pear trees this year. First time event. Raspberries, blackberries and blueberries are doing fine in the garden.
