Ballistic Tips...again

I went out this weekend to shoot and sight in the rifles for my New Mexico trip. I shot my .30-06 in with various loads with 150 gr bullets. I could not believe how well that 90-something year old rifle shoots 150 gr Ballistic Tips with 52.0 gr of IMR-4064 powder. I got one group right under 1/2-inch and several between 3/4 and 1/2 inch. (This was actually at 133 lasered yards, but was the best flat places for the bench and the target stands in the canyon we were shooting in.)

I'd use my .270, but it doesn't shoot that well and my '06 is lucky for me on deer.

First of all, good luck on your hunt! 2nd, nice to have it all come togeather! Don't we wish they still made them like they did in the good ole days! I truely believe, they only thing they have improved on is the powder and bullets in the last 50 years!
