Back to index release?

I'm currently shooting a Spot Hogg Whipper Snapper. I do like it but am considering switching back to an index style release.

Reasons for switching-

Late season hunting-Im think that even a light liner type glove is causing my anchor point to shift a bit. Could also see that with a index style release though, I'm guessing?

Thumb release getting bumped and falling off string- When Im stalking and inside what I would consider the kill zone, I want to be ready to shoot. Even though I may not be to the actual spot Im hoping to kill from. I dont like having the thumb release clipped to the string and swinging around but having it tucked away also does no good if the buck stands up early and decides to move beds.

I do like being able to clip the thumb release onto the string for late season whitetail hunting though.

Any input from those who have(or haven't) switched back to a index style release would be much appreciated

I switched back with no regrets. Ive bumped the thumb style off a time or two up in the tree. A lot harder to misplace the wrists Tylenol when your already wearing it to. I didnt notice any change in my accuracy or consistency when I went back either.

I wouldn't leave the release attached for extended periods since it will wear the serving, and generally, make moving a bit of an issue since your right and left hand will be connected. For instance, moving a branch out the way is harder when one hand is holding the bow and the other is hooked to it.

When I was shooting a lot of tournaments, I switched release types from time to time to help deal with target panic. I have noticed that some people have more issues with target panic with an index finger release.

I think if you practice with eyes shut, you should be able to put a Scott or similar index release on the string without looking fairly quickly. Some people find the extra support of the wrist a good thing.

I have a back tension release that I use time to time in the backyard just to see how it affects my release and if I am following through properly. I have come to the conclusion I am not cool enough to hunt with a back tension release; it feels too twitchy at full draw on an animal, and reminds me of a pricey fidget spinner in my pocket, waiting for me to lose it.

I use a Carter's Like Mike II cranked up to 3.5#, and with my finger wrapped fully around to the second knuckle (that's what she said) it does not give me the yips or even hint at some of the target panic I used to get with a light trigger index. It is solid and hard to pull through to the break, which makes it easier for me to get off a clean shot. So far, so good.

Made the switch back to index release. Can't lose something that's attached to my wrist. I've also bumped my thumb release a couple times, something that's never happened to me with an index release...

I’ve done some range time with a thumb style but will only hunt with a strapped index. Does anyone make a bracelet/tether for a thumb release? I don’t have my thumb release in front of me but I feel like it has a notch for a dummy cord.
