Baby pronghorn season

I’ve logged some decent dashboard time in the last week and have seen a good number of pronghorn babies. Saw one hit the ground as I drove by, a couple others still dark and wet, and plenty that couldn’t have been on their feet for long. The areas I was in have had some really good moisture recently and the grass is nice and lush. Love seeing those fresh ones.
Hoping for sustained moisture through the summer and they should hopefully have a good rebound year.

I just started seeing fawns last week as well. I was pretty worried about the moisture situation but some timely rains the past couple weeks have things pretty green. I hope we can get some more in June. Laramie to Rock Springs is pretty green right now.

Not fawns, but saw 2 bucks fighting like they were in full rut last Saturday. Top it off, when they split and ran off, watched em jump a fence.

Because I don't have a decent camera and my iPhone 10 that refuses to die takes the same quality pictures as a potato.

5 antelope babies just down the road from me, on their feet and scampering.
Black bear sighting too, long ways from any cover.

I had twins that were trying to hide from me last night. It was pretty dark, so pics are likely crap. I will check out this afternoon.

In related news, four killdeer on gravel nest this morning. I left them alone as it is chilly and wet. Mom was back immediately after I walked off. She even stayed tight as I drove past at 6’.

I have an ice pick and am willing to euthanize your Iphone 10 for you so you are not wasting your life not taking photos of cool chit you see. Great, rea$onable options on ebay to get a good recent model phone with a good camera.

Life is too short to not save a few memories when enjoying seeing wildlife. My opinion anyway.

I've been helping the CSKT with tracking their pronghorn fawns this season on the National Bison Range and only a couple have dropped so far - the rest seem to be holding on them forever. I'm developing a theory that a new survival strategy they're building is to give birth to full grown adults to reduce pressure from predators.

Plenty of other places to spend money. My boys need rifles and shotguns and the like.
Honestly, a flip phone would do me as much good as a new iPhone.
Plus, who needs pictures with a steel trap memory like mine? haha

killdeer on gravel nest this morning

No antelope fawns yet, but killdeer were found. I did not realize that those little birds like the water.

Seen this momma with her baby this morning out the kitchen window. He already found his legs and was looking pretty playful.
