Just returned from AZ a couple of days ago. To make a long story short, two tags, two deer down by day 3.

I shot a spike on day 2. My buddy, who had never hunted deer before, got a nice 8pointer on day 3. Cool for a first deer.

Nice! From what I've heard even just seeing one of those is an accomplishment. My bro who lives in AZ keeps telling me we should go hunt those whitetails during the archery hunt with the OTC tags in January.

Any Coues is a trophy, I would take the spike to be mounted or at least a Euro mount. Would like the opportunity to hunt them some time.

These posts are in error. Coues deer hunting is all work and no play. Why would anyone want to do it. All kidding aside, great job on those deer. As stated before, any Coues deer is a trophy. More people should try hunting this hunt at least once. When you do it becomes addictive. and that's not a bad thing
