He usually meets up with some his friends. They all take their own boat, because nobody wants to fish the back of the boat. They all think the guy running the trolling motor up front will catch all the fish.
Made me think of this song. I used to fish with twin brothers when they had a spare seat in their boat. They wouldn't fish together, for the same reason - supposedly the guy in the front had a big advantage.

That’s funny. Never heard that song. Jerry Reed was a bass fisherman. Some old timers that I grew up around used to fish tournaments that he was in. Imagine how cool it would be fishing with The Snowman!

76 shortly; L2-L5 back fusion in 24, knee surgery in 25. Killed 8pt 5 months after back surgery, posted up the video of the retrieval into truck. Never lifted anything. Last year knee still a problem I hunted back of my property for first time since I bought it in 04. Killed another 8, Kubota loader made short work of dressing and retrieval. Gotta say that was eye opener on how nice it was to dress a deer hanging vertically! Hopefully this year making run out west to either WY or CO. Bringing CanAm Defender Limited to help where I can. Cart and other tools ready. Plus having younger guys willing to help. You really find out a lot about friends when they will not allow you to stay home when they all say "We got you covered!". Its hard to accept help and accept your limitations but when your buds refuse to leave you behind is such a boost mentally, emotionally and even physically you get fired back up to go!

Life goes by pretty quickly. Certainly there are a lot of years, when you are past your prime. If you keep you waistline under control, and exercise, it's possible to stay in the game. It can't be like when you were 30, but it beats the hell out of giving it up.
Move it ... or lose it! Mom
Don't let the old man in! Clint Eastwood.
I'm in my prime! Doc Holiday (Val Kilmer, RIP)

At 81 ... I still run (if you use the term loosely), hike hard, and hunt mountain elk with grandkids (mostly advise and pack). Signed up for '26 ICEBREAKER, GOVERNORS CUP, and JOHN COLTER RUN (Took age class second last year as there were only two really old "runners"!)

You still gotta kick it at the finish line to celebrate crossing upright ... even if your knees "talk" to you for the next week.
