Attack on the Feds independence

To be abundantly clear - sanctuary cities/states is an active problem that is obviously contributing to the lack of solutions on the table. It's pathetic, illogical, and intellectually dishonest that so many can't see through their party bias to accept that reality.

ICE wouldn't have to do anything except deport illegal immigrants from jail/prison. There would be no need for ICE to be in cities - which is exactly why they aren't dealing with the kind of issues they are in MN in Florida and Texas. Not only would their be no need, the support that does exist for some of the unjust actions simply wouldn't be there.

I don't support taking anyone out of their home in some raid, or people being so afraid that they feel they have to walk around with anything other than an ID. People shouldn't be terrorized by a police force, I don't think many people agree with that. The media has contributed to that fear - as well as the skepticism of it actually happening. Sensationalism killed honest discussion. I'm out, done being called racist, or a nazi, because I'm intelligent enough to understand that current and previous policies do affect solutions as well as how we arrived here.

I promised myself not to respond to any more of your posts, however, here goes.

This shitshow in the Twin Cities is not about illegal alien deportation. It is intended to heighten tensions, so that Trump can enact the Insurrection Act. Why would they have troops on standby, to be deployed? He will use the first open violence against ICE to declare that there is an insurrection.

If it was about deportation, it would have to be the most expensive operation possible, for each person deported.

You so smart that you don't see that sanctuary cities don't appear out of no where. EVERYTHING is some sort of response to something else. Trump uses executive orders to enact something he can't get legislatively. Various cities used their power to respond to an immigration enforcement they found to be unjust. It is not very different. Each used a questionable tactic to achieve a political goal.

When is the last time you drove through Minneapolis? Did you know Walz called in the National Guard? It wasn't Trump.

ICE HAS the ability to deport people from jail or prisons NOW.

As noted in the article I posted earlier. Many of the supposed running amuck in the streets violent illegals the administration has provided names of from detentions in MN were in fact known to ICE and were picked up from prisons or jails as they were set to be released.

"Sanctuary"...which does not mean what you think it does...or not, they have and have exercised that ability here in MN.

I have seen statements by multiple police chiefs and departments in this state clarifying that they do follow the law and will cooperate with federal authorities when presented evidence of criminal actions, and will help if they obtain a warrant. They also notify ICE as required if they arrest anyone who is determined to be in this country illegally.
Those activities fall within their authority and duties...enforcing immigration laws...do not.

ICE does not appear to have done much actual deporting despite their being routinely notified when an illegal is arrested likely due to the ignored problem of finding a place that would accept them.

Not discussed yet is which is better...deporting the worst of them, only to have them re enter our country in short order....or keep them in our jails and prisons where we know they won't do any harm.

I used to live there many years ago. I have a sister and brother who live there. I've even been to where Chauvin choked the life out of George Floyd.

I moved west so that I could elk hunt as a resident, instead of whining how badly Montana treats non resident hunters.

Walz called out the guard to try keep a lid on things, so Trump won't send in active duty military.

"Many years ago" In the past 15 years, things have been going downhill at a rapid rate.

Walz called out the guard to try and stop ICE which he failed at.

I can tell this is becoming emotional for you. Come back and visit. Take a walk down lake street and tell me it doesn't need cleaned up. Do you want all of these illegals to live in your state?

Illegals? haven't thought about that much. Now.. non resident elk hunters, if they got deported, I could get on board.

Sounds right. You just deflect when you don't want to answer a question. Same way no one can come up with a better plan to remove illegals than what's currently happening right now.

Minnesota has fewer illegal aliens per capita than Texas, Oregon, California, or Florida. Last I checked Obama deported folks at a similar rate to Trump. Just do it that with no of this jackbooted flourish.

Jackbooted flourish, or is it simply because certain people disagree with ANYTHING he does?

I've said it for awhile now. Trump could cure cancer and people would find some reason to protest it.

I have a daughter in St. Paul. Her boyfriend has a law degree and works as defense council in the city.

She lived not far from where Floyd was killed at the time. They live in Avery diverse area of St. Paul now.

Both tell us they feel safer now than several years ago, crime has gone down, they use public transit and ride bikes for getting around....Nothing at all like the purely fear mongering statements the administration makes about the cities. Again if anything, its gotten better.

Due in no small part to efforts by local law enforcement to repair relationships and improve policing...which the the chiefs and sheriff there say is threatened...not by criminals or crime, but by ICE!

Furthermore, federal prosecutors there have been a huge help in attacking gang activity and fraud...working with local LEOs.

Many of those people resigned recently when ordered not to investigate the Good shooting.

Trump and his administration and MAGA supporters are clearly making it WORSE for crime...not better!

When did you see militarized ICE agents in masks marching down the street in the Obama administration? The entire thing is childish optics with this administration. He gold plated the White House. There is a framed portrait of an auto pen. You can't act like it's not different.

Take away all that BS, stfu with the trolling, and half of the problems go away.

So in your experience or your daughters, Minneapolis is getting better? But you draw the line at removing illegals.

Now it sounds like you support the police. I know you wanted to defund them just a couple of years ago... It must be exhausting changing your mind so much!

I think you are under the mistaken thought that I'm obligated to answer your questions. I chose to needle you about your recurring posts about how western states have hosed you.

You are not obligated to respond, that's how it works.

It makes sense. Good choice! I don't expect you to admit how little you know about what's actually happening in MN.
