To be abundantly clear - sanctuary cities/states is an active problem that is obviously contributing to the lack of solutions on the table. It's pathetic, illogical, and intellectually dishonest that so many can't see through their party bias to accept that reality.
ICE wouldn't have to do anything except deport illegal immigrants from jail/prison. There would be no need for ICE to be in cities - which is exactly why they aren't dealing with the kind of issues they are in MN in Florida and Texas. Not only would their be no need, the support that does exist for some of the unjust actions simply wouldn't be there.
I don't support taking anyone out of their home in some raid, or people being so afraid that they feel they have to walk around with anything other than an ID. People shouldn't be terrorized by a police force, I don't think many people agree with that. The media has contributed to that fear - as well as the skepticism of it actually happening. Sensationalism killed honest discussion. I'm out, done being called racist, or a nazi, because I'm intelligent enough to understand that current and previous policies do affect solutions as well as how we arrived here.
I promised myself not to respond to any more of your posts, however, here goes.
This shitshow in the Twin Cities is not about illegal alien deportation. It is intended to heighten tensions, so that Trump can enact the Insurrection Act. Why would they have troops on standby, to be deployed? He will use the first open violence against ICE to declare that there is an insurrection.
If it was about deportation, it would have to be the most expensive operation possible, for each person deported.
You so smart that you don't see that sanctuary cities don't appear out of no where. EVERYTHING is some sort of response to something else. Trump uses executive orders to enact something he can't get legislatively. Various cities used their power to respond to an immigration enforcement they found to be unjust. It is not very different. Each used a questionable tactic to achieve a political goal.
