My first animal with a patched round ball in the last half hour of the last day of our last deer season. I didn’t realize how hard it was to find 54 cal projectiles until I decided to do this hunt at the last minute.

Shooting doubles is fairly common in wild areas where there is little hunting pressure.
Boom and then the rest of the herd just mills around.
A double on rams, and another hunt where we had 4 bull caribou on the ground.

This mornings turkey hunt started out at O’dark thirty and 39 degrees. By the time I was filling out my tag it was 80. The silk undershirt and two merino tops as well as the merino beanie got a ride back to the car in the PopUp.
