“Primitive” in Louisiana and Mississippi means single shot, .35 caliber or larger. I shoot an H&R Target Classic in .38-55 WIN. I high shouldered him, but he was still kicking, belly up to me. The odd shot angle caused a larger hole on the second shot.

Thought maybe it was a rage broadhead, not a fan boy but I used to shoot them and they do leave a hole like that...how they penetrate and fly not so impressive.

Last dedicated meat hunt for a while. The red deer roar starts next month so will be focusing on calling in stags.
