I'm planning an Aoudad hunt in New Mexico for February 2019, I've never hunted them before so I was hoping I could get a little bit of insight from y'all.

Is there a particular time of year that's best?
I'm thinking about going in February simply because that's when the drawn
hunts take place, so I figured that might be a better time of year.

Any other good pointers from anyone who has hunted them before?

not sure about the season in NM but I like to hunt em when it cooler (Dec-Feb in TX), take good binoculars, thick leather gloves, well broken in boots with aggressive soles, plenty of water/gatorade, a flat shooting rifle you can shoot out to 3-400 yds, rangefinder, backpack to haul out a quartered up animal, do conditioning hikes up and down some steep terrain if you can-they live in some nasty country. It's a great hunt for a neat animal
