Saw these very discounted on an online retailer and wondering peoples experiences?

I’ve never owned a Taurus nor have I shot one.

Be mindful of shooting HOT 45 LC. From what ive been told/read - it wont stand up to "ruger/tc" only loads unless it is the "raging judge."

I wont get one cause im afraid of mixing higher pressure ammo that my ruger takes...

I have a Judge, a 3" stainless version and it takes 2 1/2" shells, not the 3" stuff. I killed grouse and a lot of rattlesnakes with it over the years. The ammo is expensive for it though. No problems with it for well over a decade.

Thinks @shootbrownelk: How is felt recoil on it? The 3" is what I was looking at. What ammo do you shoot through it? I would think that it would be a little expensive to shoot, but like @noharleyyet said, perfect for carjackers, rattlesnakes, etc.

I usually use #7 1/2 shot when I can find it. It's death on snakes and ruffed/blue grouse if you can get close enough. Got 2 Hun's with one shot once upon a time.

I have one with the 6"(?) barrel.

The factory 45 Colt ammo is powder puff. Of course it has to work in original pistols from when it was first developed.

My handloads are much hotter! 😉

Don't make the mistake of using 3" shot shells! They will load.
Turning the cylinder takes some work before it can happen.
Ask me how I know.. 😳

45 Colt loads are fairly accurate to 50 yards.
I put up a blueprint for a pattern target at 25 yards. After 3 shots of 2-1/2" #8 shot, the paper was still clean.

Oh,
And I haven't been car jacked since I bought it.😂

I have a Rossi Brawler. Basically the bastard child of the judge and the tuffy. Probably the most fun I’ve ever had shooting a pistol, using that thing! If I didn’t already have it, however, I’d be looking into a judge.

W/ 45lc it’ll put a hole where you point it. With #7 3” game loads, it’ll pattern well enough to about 12 yards.
I carry it during deer season for use on the occasional flushed grouse, though thus far I haven’t had the chance to actually use it in that capacity.

Dont recall if the one i shot was a judge or a raging judge. Definitely didn't want to be standing beside it when hammer drops. I just recall waves coming off of it, felt like some kind of pressure/debris escaping between barrel and cylinder? If you get a kick out of shooting big ass heavy revolvers, go for it. If I had one it would collect dust.

My brother tried turkey hunting with the Judge one time. Called birds into about 10 yards, got 2 or 3 shots off, not sure they took any shot with them as they ran off 😂
