I went hunting coyotes yesterday and decided to take my new 270 Creedmoor. It really works.

130 grain Combined technology bullet
55 grains IMR4350
Muzzle velocity 3160FPS

Custom rifle:

Sako action, one I have never seen before
Custom stock
Lilja 25 inch barrel
Swarovski 3-10X42

I had shot the rifle at a rock at 500 yards a month ago and knew where to hold with the ballistic reticle that is in the scope. One shot in an open field at 520 yards and this coyote was done. I really love the 270 Creedmoor...

I generally shoot coyotes with a 204 . Never thought of shooting one with something that big.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve been doing random searches on the internet after seeing your rifles.

Found him! Thank you again!
I am actually on the fence and have my finger over the “buy” button. I’ll be turning 68 in five months and am trying to decide between a Winchester feather weight and the super grade in 6.5 creedmoor. I only wanted the super grade because of a chance at better wood. Common sense keeps tapping me on the shoulder and says to go with the smaller rifle. I am not 40 years old and 5’10, 165lbs
Pushing 68 and 5’4, and 127lbs. after a meal. 🤣
I actually already have a 270 feather weight but after half a box of rounds at the bench I begin to flinch.😟
The stock is a tad long for me and I’ve thought about having it shortened but there are no gunsmiths on the island to do it. Should I buy the softer shooting rifle or send the 270 away to get it shortened and have a better recoil pad installed and pretty wood?
270 ammunition is also more affordable where I am too. Or, buy another rifle and have it reworked before even leaving the continent!

One more thing, the 270 is accurate!

If you want a beautiful rifle that won’t beat you up, I have one for sale. The Creedmoor and any other hunting rifle is not where you want to start getting nice guns. Get something you can shoot and enjoy for 100’s of rounds/day. That’s why I have so many varmint rifles, you can shoot them all day and not get beat up.

I have a Sako 75 deluxe in 17 Remington that I am selling. It is an extremely rare gun, not even listed in the available calibers, with exceptional wood and mint...

That’s not a rifle. That’s a true work of art. Beautiful sir, just beautiful.
