Any hockey fans out there?

Good season by the Avs. Feels like you don't typically see sweeps past the opening round, but Vegas looked fresh and spry and the Avs looked ready to hit the links.

Nothing against Carolina, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Vegas/Montreal final. The Canadiens were the last Canadian team to win the cup in '93. I was 2 years old at that time. The Bell Centre looks like a mad house every single game. I couldn't imagine the chaos that would ensue if the hoisted the cup in Canadia.

Have to hope Montreal can find a little good luck. Vegas v. Carolina is the most uninteresting Stanley Cup matchup I could have come up with in these playoffs. I might not even watch because both teams are so easy to hate.

Idk. I would thoroughly enjoy it.

2 things are true for sure.
1. The talking heads have no idea what they are talking about during the whole playoffs.
2. People hate the Canes.

It’s hilarious.

Go Canes.

People don't hate the Canes. They hate that they had more than a week off compared to the Canadians. With all that time to rest they should be steamrolling over the Hab's.

1) canes fans will gladly agree with talking heads when they are picked to win the Stanley Cup.
2) agree. 😆

I just want good hockey to watch being the big general hockey fan I am. The Worlds somewhat interest me but I'm not watching much mostly just due to limited time and the playoffs being on every night. I'll watch more of the Worlds here now with one series done. Hopefully the Canes/Habs go to game 6 or 7 and we get a whole heck of a lot more fun tight hockey like game 2 and 3 were.

I know it's not talked about much south of the border but almost all the talk up here is Mitch Marner is playing in the Finals and it pisses off every Leaf fan. I love seeing Leaf fans cry lol
So does that mean you are on the bandwagon supporting Matthews moving to St. Paul? I bet I could hear that crying all the way from here and Lake Ontario will probably rise a few inches from all those tears!

The Wild have money but don't think the have Matthews Money. Larking would be nice though.

What we are seeing is the result of the inane playoff seeding system. The Av's were the best team in the league. Too beat up to compete. I guess it's another way to keep things interesting for teams that belong but aren't as good. Picking Carolina now. Most legit of the remaining teams IMO.

If that game 4 was desperation, everyone on that team should take a hard look at the dictionary for that word, with the possible exception of Burns and Manson. Blackwood played well enough to steal game 4, but they seemed to oscillate from passiveness (O-Zone) to frustration (neutral zone) to panic (D-zone) all night.

Great season, horrible round. I am almost never a 'coach needs to go' guy, but damn, 1 cup for this core, and losing 4 years straight to teams that play the same lock/block/cycle style is not good enough.

The harder part for us CO sports fans now:

Not true, they definitely do but it would require either Spurgeon, Brodin, Ek or the Gus Bus as part of the deal. It is no secret Matthews wants out and the fit is perfect here.
Spurgeon's value is not that great anymore. Brodin and EK missing showed how badly the Wild needed them to compete. Gus, maybe, but his value is down. Word was he was actually dinged up pretty good towards the end of the season and in the playoffs.

More likely Yuroff or Stramel. Hate to lose them though. Traded away enough good young talent for Hughes.

O it will take those players as well. My point is that in order for the money to work, one of those 4 would need to go and while Toronto would prefer Ek or Gus, it is actually better for the Wild to dump off Spurgeon or Brodin. In the NHL, you can't redo any deals so the cap hit from those two players is far above their team value.

You should watch to do some window shopping from the Vegas team. They will have some cap problems next season.

No one wants to play in St.Paul because it's St.Paul. If Matthews was to leave it would be to San Jose or LA
