Any hockey fans out there?

I disagree. This is a small tournament, just 8 teams total since we are only talking about how the conference gets broken out for seeding. In almost all scenarios that have played out over the years, the number 1 seed always plays the 8 based on end of season points. There is a huge incentive to win the conference during the season so I dont see the disincentive because you want to be the 1 seed and you really really really dont want to be the 8 seed.
I have heard that the goal was to create division rivalries by making playoff matchups. Seems unnecessary. And no one cares about Divisions.I have never heard anyone brag about winning the Atlantic or Central or whatever.

Hey! Wild moving on. Hope they get some rest, Dallas made them work again.
Excellent series. I was worried for Wild after Wallstedt misplayed the second goal, but he pulled it together. It seemed like Dallas lacked urgency after Wild tied it back up at 2. Next series doesn't get easier. Enjoy the rest and hope the Avs are rusty.

Logan stankoven has had a playoffs so far.

I think both Colorado and Carolina ‘won’ the Rantanen trades and it might not be close.

See you in the finals, @Wildabeest :)
Why are tickets half the cost in Ball arena tomorrow compared to what they are in St. Paul? We are legit debating and thinking about flying to Denver for a game rather than going to St. Paul with those prices!

Holy crap on those prices! In both places. I can get second round Canes tickets, lower level between the blue lines for under $300 direct from the box office. Trying to decide if I get a game 5 ticket or wait for the next round.

It looks like a big part of the difference between Denver and MSP prices is that MSP is sold out and you only have highly marked up resale tickets available; whereas Denver still has a decent number direct from the box office. Perhaps that’s because Denver has more alternative things to do than MSP 😜.

That Stankoven, Blake, Hall line has been on fire 🔥. If our top line with Aho, Jarvis and Svechnikov get back to their usual scoring level, we’ll be unstoppable. The offensive depth of this team is the best it’s ever been.

Every game in St. Paul is sold out, always!

Normal season price is 200 ish for lower bowl goal end, that is now about double that at 400

CO is like LA and Vegas in the regular season. Opposing teams fans can find tickets and rival the home crowd if loud enough. Not so sure about the playoffs though. MN fans travel. Might be interesting to watch crowd reactions tonight.

Probably people similar to me where im 5 hours from St. Paul but only an hour from an airport and the net cost and even travel time isnt much different.

That’s what happens when you win a playoff series for the first time in 10yrs.
Bigger factor is the talent and depth give the Wild a real shot at the cup. IMO we could never say that before. Wild went 2-1-1 in the regular season against the avs this year with one of the losses being a shootout loss. Like the Stars, the Avs are a tough draw but there's ample reason to think the Wild can compete with them...fans feel that.

Wilds 4th line has been excellent so far. Great mix of top level young talent and vets. The Wild have more size and muscle than in most past years too. Kaprizov and Hughes are known studs...but Boldy has risen to be one of the best clutch players in the league, and Faber the same on the D side...but on any given night multiple others have shined.

I cant say which way it will go..the Wall of St. Paul might be the key... .but looking forward to watching!

Some data: Our Avs seats (lower bowl, on the goal line above the Zamboni tunnel) average $125/seat face value for the regular season this year. Basically the cheapest lower bowl seats.

For rd1 they were $173
Rd2 they are $225

So for the first two rounds it’s not bad.

In 2022, face value doubled for the conf finals and almost doubled again for the Cup Finals and that will be similar this year so we think it will be $450 and ~$800 apiece for those. We also sold game 5 of the cup finals on one of the resale sites in 2022, as selling that 1 game paid for half the following season.

I’m already on record with my ticket partners that I’m not selling Cup Finals tickets this year :)

They do a good job of releasing non-season ticket single game seats for playoffs. Season ticket holders and partial plan holders got a text Friday to buy game 1 extra tickets, and the general public got access to what was left yesterday.

But yeah, even on the resale sites, they’re not too bad at all, seats a couple rows above us going for $265

I’d say go for it. You could still get here in time if you left now :)

I will be watching the 1st period from Lagaurdia since I land for a client visit right at puck drop tonight.

We really only notice that with a few teams. STL, DAL, and the Rangers, notably. MIN Always well represented but fans are generally nice and know hockey (as a once-native Minnesotan and son of a North Stars season ticket holder, I have to give credit where due) so it’s not that noticeable
