Any hockey fans out there?

Your goalie made some great saves in the shootout! 👏
I love the Gus Bus. He is a great goalie and earned the big extension he got right before the season started. However...makes me wonder now seeing just how amazing this fellow Swede is! Best Swede goalie combo in the league!!!

avs fan only come out of the woodwork during the playoffs. until then, there are none.
I'm a proud Av's fan the entire season EXCEPT when they play the Wild. I was actually a fan before the Wild had a team and only moved to the Wild once they got into the league and properly back to having a team in the State of Hockey

I just don't know why the VGK can't seem to win in OT. They're 1-7 in OT :(
because eichel and theo are pressing and haven't been handling the puck as well as they can at their best. the marner one was gross, too. But i'm more concerned about their ability to score 5v5 than 3v3. they need some depth guys to start producing or need to give holtz/connelly/lavoie/laczynski a try. those guys are scorers and are much younger than reilly/sisson/saad. i don't know why they won't just throw holtz out there for more than 12 minutes in a game. Put him in for 15-17 minutes one night and see if he can do anything.

Heck, i checked standings yesterday and Redwings were #1 in Division. I don't think I'll check again until we get to playoffs so I can live my fantasy a little longer. I noted the Wild were not doing so well but its early. Maybe they can pick up some pointers from the Vikings? JK

Rough start, they are now on a tear

TWO of the hottest goalies in the league and their young players with oodles of talent are starting to play better--and a few key guys coming back from injury--the near future sure looks good! Still a player or two away but they will have the money to remedy that if they choose right!

A little OT assistance from the refs tonight. The NHL refereeing has been so bad this year. This game was a prime example. The league has to do something.
That OT call I do agree was bad but it was a subjective call and the call is made when a player has the puck and in this case, while the puck was there, he didn't have it. Letter of the rule that call was probably correct but in play it doesn't seem like it should have been called.

Before that, there were four bad calls, three missed (two missed on Blackhawks, one missed on the wild) and that bad one on Middleton. So it was even both ways but wish they wouldn't be making so many mistakes in a game

Part of the game in my view. Like you get bad calls sometimes and that's just the way it goes. Other games you get the call in your favor.

With replay at least the big calls are getting more and more correct. Goals, double minors, majors, game misconduct, are often reviewed to make sure the big impact calls are correct.

That being said, I don't want every single call to be reviewed because so much is subjective in hockey. They need to leave some of the play to happen live with the refs making and missing calls naturally.

I think he was given the interference call because at game speed it felt like Ek made a legal hit and then the Blackhawk player retaliated without focusing on the puck. That seemed to be what happened live, but in replay it was slowed down and dissected showing it was probably a legal hit. Just what it seemed to me live. I also didn't expect it to be a call at that moment because they often let them play with hits like that

Blackhawks have been the victim on a lot of bad calls, so I'm hoping some start balancing out in their favor. (Wild are near the top in penalty Diff, and Blackhawks are near the bottom, so YMMV) I watch a lot of hockey and their referees have sucked. But I agree, I don't want everything reviewed. I also don't want to watch a Kraken game where the style of play is holding, grabbing, and interference-lite on every shift and nothing is called, or a game with the Penguins where eveything is called. I'm not sure what the answer is, but fans don't pay to see referees decide games.

Only second time I have seen the Wild. That team meeting must have been good because they really turned things around. Young guys look like they have taken the next step. They probably should have lost last nights game, but found a way. I'm not sure what they need to add (other than a couple of guys getting healthy) and it is not clear who is available or if Wild would pay the price. Kraken also probably looking to add a skilled player. With the front-loaded schedule because of Olympics, we should be seeing moves in December and early Jan. I just don't have any guess on what could happen. Hopefully Avs cool off a little to make it interesting.
