Drummer Frank Beard has passed away at 77.

Frank Beard, ZZ Top's hard-shuffling drummer who performed with the group for more than 55 years, has died at age 77.

I liked how he would just close his eyes and play like he was in a trance. Glad I was able to see them a couple times in their heyday.

I saw Uncle Ted do a Tarzan across the stage in a cheetah outfit. Still listen to Stranglehold recorded at that concert.
