Another One Bites The Dust... So long Kuiu

I like the Kuiu stuff I've had over the years. I hope this doesn't negatively impact the product.

My main takeaway from the statement is... "The investment will support KUIU’s expansion of its brick-and-mortar retail presence, offering more in-person shopping experiences for its customers across the U.S. The long-term brand strategy includes domestic and international growth through expanding retail, ecommerce and exclusive partnerships."

I'd bet we'll be seeing Kuiu in retail stores before too long.

Its always a concern when the ownership vision shifts away from quality products to increased profit margins. I guess we'll see how it goes. :(

I personally believe ownership changed their vision after Jason passed away

We'll have to wait and see what effect this will have on the quality and pricing of their products. Sure make you wonder.

Always found it interesting that a “ultra-light mountain hunting” apparel company would have retail stores in major cities in Texas…
I saw camouflage in Abercrombie & Fitch this weekend in Minneapolis. Multiple items of it. And it wasn’t just that store. Not to mention the Sitka bros around every corner. I started doing some math on the faded realtree sitting in the back of the closet, and it made me think long and hard about what it could be turned into.

I think hunt high-performance hunting gear advertised a bit too well, and now camo gear is a fashion statement. So kuiu is going to try grabbing a piece of that apparel/fashion market share.

PE's greatest skill is being able to suck the last drop of value out of a company and leave a withered and dried carcass behind. Should be little doubt how this will turn out.

Yep. Look at the Vista/Revelyst shitshow. Lots of carcasses in that building....Simms, SG, Bushnell, etc......

Gotta love when a company loses their value prop. We are low overhead, direct to consumer, meaning better products at lower prices is gone.....

If all that is being said about PE is true, then this is a great opportunity for someone start a new brand.
