Another attack on public lands management by 47, Congress in MT, AK, ND

So far the push for more mining isn't always paying off, at least not on the ground, though the propaganda seems to still be effective.

I should point out that our former resident O&G expert, the former masshole himself, sent me that link and a note that no one in the industry thinks 47 can reverse the market. That this is all just for show.
My friend at the forest service has said about as much for opening timber leases. He would love it if someone would come and cut these forests, but the market, sawmills, and other timber needs are being ignored so nothing will happen.

Agree. The coal stuff is mostly show and O&G prices are too low to see many new projects, especially the expensive ones. But I guess the base responds to the idea of $2/gal gas.

Saw this article this morning. Somehow this news on the Stibnite Gold Project that slipped through my news feed previously. I'm sure there are dozens like it in various stages of proposal/development. Odd that they didn't call it the Stibnite Antimony project?

My take...applies to most things that require ramping up/spending money....wise companies want to see some stability and a future that justifies the expense.

47s policies and actions are anything but stable and the future increasingly looks like a strong reversal is coming. Not the conditions that make companies want to ramp up production.

IMO what should be guarded against is what we have seen with timber resources in my state...producers have no intent to take more wood let alone expand paper or mill production....what they do want...and the state has helped them do....is to flood the market to drive the price of what they do buy down.

More offered combined with eliminating or relaxing environmental protections has greatly harmed habitat here.
