well, we've all seen the emails where someone has a run in with some critter that ends up in the vehicle. well, after last night, can tell you, it's not a whole lot of fun when it happens. even less fun when you are driving a vehicle that weighs 80,000 lbs. had a vehicle coming at me hit a deer. watched as the deer helicoptered up in the air. also watched as it came at my front window. not really sure what happened next as I was on the phone, using a bluetooth, with another driver. remember saying "OH SHIT!!!, as the deer hit the window. next thing I know, I am pulling the truck over.

here's what the front window opening looks like now.

you can see in this picture that the divider for the two windows is just a leeetle messed up.

don't have a picture of the inside of the cab yet, but this is where the deer came out the back window, flipped UP because it's antler was stuck in the header inside the truck.

not sure they will be able to fix the cab. as you can see, the rear window opening is a leetle out of shape after losing the battle with the deer.

from the drivers seat, you can what's left of the front of the inside of the truck. there WAS a CB radio hanging from the center console area. it is now hanging from the co-ax on the right hand side of the truck.

all in all, have to say, must have been truly blessed last night since nothing serious really happened to me. lots of cuts from the broken glass. can't hear out of my right ear right now. as I said, had my bluetooth in my ear, and when the deer came thru the window, it took it right out of my ear. again, lots of cuts to the ear area. bluetooth is nowhere to be found. and the right side of my face is swollen pretty good. not going to post pictures of my face. no one needs that much ugly on a weekend. did find one of the antlers inside the cab. kind of scary to think of what might have happened. here is the guilty bastard right here.

well, now you can all say you actually know someone who has taken a critter for a ride. even if it wasn't an expected ride.

I'm with ya brother ! Last year I was Hell bent for Atlanta on I-85, October, when a little buck burst outta the side of the hwy right in front of me. I had just got done passing a semi & a couple cars, doing 75 MPH. Had to brake hard, cuz he was crossing right in my path ! The deer took a quick about face, just letting me miss him, but jumped right in front of the Semi. WHAPPP !!! I heard the Smack even with closed windows and saw the buck launching toward my rear view mirror. Floored the accelaeator and it landed just inches behind my bumper ! Scared the Hell outt me !

amazing the amount of damage done. Lucky he missed you, and yeah, I'll bet the cab is done, glad you're ok, and I'd bet with all the contact there's not a lot left of the deer that's edible, even if you did want to get even.

Wow, there have been several people killed in this area the past few years because of the same situation. Not much you can do... when it's time, it's time.

Glad to hear it wasn't your time yet...

WOW! That is amazing for a wt...

Glad your injuries were only minor... Like you implied - I would hate to be on the receiving end of an antler point with the amount of force presented in those pictures.
