This is a short film I cut together about a trip my wife and I just took. Like everything I shoot, there are scenes I should have re-shot and many things I wish I had more footage of. Any way, those are the excuses to ease my insecurities.

Any and all criticism truly welcome.

Here is some back story:

The Monday before Thanksgiving last year, my wife was walking to her car after work and a drunk-driver hit her in the crosswalk. 5 1/2 months and multiple surgeries later, we knew we had a 3 week window before her next surgery.

One night we came up with an idea. We made a list of things we always wanted to see in the lower 48. We knew we had to be back by May 10th for another surgery, that was all the plan we had. April 21st, our original list in hand, we rented a car and left.

8,000 miles in 18 days, 4 hours of video, 700+ stills, and this is what I came up with:

Very cool. Think I would need a motor home to be in a vehicle that long. But awesome video

Dustin that was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! One hell of a country we have isn't it? Looks like your Mrs. is getting around quite well, hope she enjoys a full recovery.

Awesome video! I have done tons of road trips,4 more states to visit, but couldn't put a video like that together.

I've only been to a couple of those places, thanks for taking us along for the ride. Great video, it'll bring back a lot of memories down the road. I hope your wife is doing well and soon as good as new.

Very cool. Interesting that you were thinking in advance about how you planned to put this together as a story. Or so it seems, given you were taking images of the odometer and such. A cool story that the two of you will remember forever.

That was great, you just inspired me to do the same with my wife.
She just watched it with me and might have problems of her own in the years to come so this trip will be on the agenda in the not too distant future.
Speedy recovery to your wife.
Cheers
Richard

Way to put things together for us to enjoy.

The sculpture of the bull at :17 seconds is only 15 miles from my place! Hope you enjoyed your portion of the trip thru South Dakota!

Wow that was some serious miles you put on! Glad to see South Dakota made some of your footage. Wish your wife the best on her surgery

God Bless America! Thank you for sharing and I wish you both the best.
