It's not necessary to go overboard buying expensive gear other than boots, glass, and gps.
 
Buy good boots and a water bladder for your pack. You need to drink more water than you think. We also switched to the last week of bow season and have the woods pretty much to our selves.
 
Thanks for all the input. I have been picking away at the gear list. so far I have sleeping bag and pad, tent, water filter, cookstove, and my pack should be delivered today. I went with the Kuiu icon pro 5200. As soon as I get it I'm going to load it up and try to get it adjusted I'm sure I will have some questions on how to properly adjust it. I'm trying to get the essentials so I can do a couple weekend dry runs before summer ends. Thanks again.
