A Little Unusual

Well it's unusual for me. I haven't caught a splake in over 30 years. Felt good to get one on the line even if it wasn't a trophy sized fish. I just think it's cool how much they look like brook trout, but have the ability to grow to much larger sizes than most brook trout.

That is cool. Brookies have those red spots mixed in, but that looks a lot like one. The largest Brookies my dad and I have caught over the years were 4 1/2 and 5lbs. Few and far between, but they are awesome to fight to the boat.
