Agreed - basic menu items like pancakes, hashbrowns, etc. they do a halfway decent job. Here is my dive restaurant favorite: fried chicken & fried bacon between grilled bread. By weight it must be over 50% fat.

If you go in late at night it's a an opportunity for you to boost your self esteem and think better of yourself. It's kinda like a year round county fair food vendor area. People arguing, passed out in the corner....

I sometimes have that issue even with my own cooking. Not sure what triggers it. I don't recall it being much of an issue after eating at Perkins which is almost always breakfast fare.
