Well, I have never really invested very much in my guns. I was just never in a place financially where it was the most important thing. Recently, that has changed a bit and my wife encouraged me to get a gun that I really liked. I looked at just buying a rifle of the shelf, but I really liked the idea of putting one together. After considerable research on calibers, I finally settled on the 7mm PRC. I have shot and own several 7mm calibers and love the way they shoot. I utilized a Howa barreled action, Boyd's At-One stock. Had the action and barrel cerakoted. The pics show the rifle with a Sig Sauer Sierra 6 BDX, but I will be swtching that out for a Leupold VX 6 before hunting season.

While doing this build, I decided it was time to do some upgrades on the 7mm-08 that I have had for a number of years. It is a budget Savage Axis II. While it is a budget rifle, it has always shot incredibly well, and I have worked up a couple different loads (120 gr and 139 gr bullets) that consistently shoot .5 moa. The stock however, was in bad shape. It had lost virtually all of its paint, was flimsy feeling in the hand and just didn't fit the way I would like. I did a similar build with it and had the barrel cerakoted, but also threaded. Utilized a different version of Boyd's At-One stock. My son shoots this gun for virtually all hunting scenarios and he is out of his mind excited about the new look and feel of it. (the scope rings shown on the 7mm-08 are not the final rings. They are set too high. I have a new set on the way).

Awesome rifles, you should be proud! What scope rings are on the 7PRC?
