Not really a reloading, but a load question. We've been using PMC 180 gr since I bought the Ruger 96 for my son. They work just fine on pigs & whitetails, at very close range, but I'd like to find a commercial load that is more accurate and I'd feel confident about making a clean shot past 30yds.

It will be used for 100-150 # whitetails, but the black bears around here can get freakin' Huge !

Anybody tried a brand/ weight that worked well for them in a carbine ? I was thinking of Fed 240 Hydro-shocks, but I'm wide open for suggestions.

I like the way the LeverEvolution round performs out of my revolver I would imagine they would work even better in a carbine.

Hornady makes it. Its pretty amazing what they've been able to do, they've really breathed new life into these calibers again.
