I hunted at 8800 feet tonight in Idaho. Saw 1 bear lower way too far to judge it, and some fresh bear crap where I was at. In a tent in Wyoming planning to scout antelope for a couple days. Will pick a different place to stop in Idaho on the way home Monday.

Currently at 6000 feet in NW Montana. There’s so much feed everywhere, I’m about to call an audible and find some higher country

Thats alot of driving.
Montana to Idaho. Idaho to Wyoming. Wyoming to Idaho. Idaho to Montana.

This bear was at 7300', and fed his way up another 200' or so before I lost him in the timber across the canyon. I took these and some video through the spotter at 1300 yards from where I was glassing. There was zero snow above him to the ridgeline over 8k. Lots of greenery at that level, and I will be back out there this week...

I’ll try to add one since there hasn’t been much traffic on here lately. I got this one last week thanks to my 30 yr old (and pregnant) daughter that came along with me on the trip and also thanks to a very special family of friends. We met on HT about 15 years ago I believe. He helped teach me and my family how and where to hunt antelope in WY. Since then we’ve shot cow elk and bears with him, he and his family have shot whitetails with me and we’ve shared a fishing trip to AK. I was the only tag holder in either family this year. We had a fantastic trip together last week and managed the best boar we could find in the mountains in a week. It’s just a mediocre one but we had a blast and made some more memories and I’ll be able to tell my granddaughter that she got to go bear hunting before she was even born. That’s pretty dang cool !
