I am not sure how he loaded it but it is great for Grizz protection either way.

Got to my site Thursday, rebaited, switched sim cards, and was sitting at 6:10 PM. Saw that a blonde boar with a hurt back leg had been using the bait the night before, maybe the same bear that sniffed my camera previously. was sitting for just over an hour when I peaked over at the bait and this chocolate was sitting in front of it. His head looked enormous from 50 yards away so I got into the rifle and popped him! My first bear and I am pummped. I gutted him that night and came back with my buddy and his horses the next morning.

I thought for a minute my evening hike was going to get ruined by having to deal with a dead bear. Spotted the bear at about 70 yards kind of quartering towards me and it was just big enough I thought it might be worth a long night and a long pack. Watched behind it for a few minutes and wasn’t seeing any cubs but it also wasn’t an obvious big boar so I wasn’t in any hurry to shoot. She finally saw me dinking around with my phone and changed her posture and when she did a yearling went up the diagonal alder over her back. Cool to see but it turned around quick and I wasn’t able to get that picture unfortunately. Picture was from 57 yards and luckily I was packing my 30-30 so she was within range but not interested in killing a sow. Beautiful bear!

I probably should have killed this bear this evening! 99% sure it was a boar and decent sized. 47 yards and the hammer was back on the old 30-30. Just wasn’t quite ready to be done…

Couple years ago we got a blonde mountain bear we called pirate that was missing one of his rear paws. Perfect clean healed like lost in a trap or something. Say it every spring, love following your bear thread.

I have draw my first bear tag in Colorado near Avon does anyone know what the bears around there taste like also does anyone have any recommendations for recipes
