2022 SD Trip

Looks like great deer country. Have a fun trip! Looks like it is so far.

Here is my thread from last year where I killed a buck and a doe out in SD:

Private - my extremely awesome Uncle and Aunt open up their paradise each fall to their nieces and nephews.
What general area are you in if I may ask? I assume with the sharpies and roosters probably somewhere between the James and Missouri?

With ecclesiastical duties that I need to attend to tomorrow, this morning was a quicker shoot. We went into the thick/nasty stuff and finished off the pheasant limit quickly.

All loaded up and on the road back to Utah by early afternoon. Side note - the Kuiu stuff for kids is awesome! I highly recommend it!

I can’t wait until 2023!

I started hunting South Dakota as a wee teenager nearly two decades ago. I anxiously look forward to this trip every year.

10/26/2022: Drive Day
Along the route from Utah to SD, we encountered elk, antelope, mule deer, white-tails, ducks, geese, swans, cranes, turkeys, sharptails, huns, and pheasants. Judging by the number of birds seen along the roads, it’s looking like an incredible year! It’s good to be back in God’s country.
