2022-2023 Waterfowl Pics Thread

The amount of fowl around central Montana is un real right now. Making me wish I still had my goose stuff

Just now finding this thread somehow 🤨

Some good shooting boys and girls! I'm jealous
We are still very early in our season and hopes have not been high.
Killed a single wood duck in our early season. Not too upset as she was banded!

Went out for the Vet only season last Sunday and killed the only bird that gave us the chance.20220917_101555.jpgIMG_20221125_035835.jpg

Midday hunt. Public land 12-2 pm. Shot my limit 7 for 7 in 30 minutes. Buddy took an hour and a half cuz he couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn today until the end. Tons of ducks flying around today. Small flocks we’re 10 birds while big flocks were 100+F22FCA11-4CDE-451C-95D7-0EECB84EA0E5.jpegE693815E-D654-4D68-A367-67A3F8C4A45B.jpeg

Not many geese came through this year and they were gone quickly. No snows. Something strange going on with the flyway.20220922_141145.jpg
Shot this limit jump shooting a slough. Set the decoys out the following day but nothing came to them. Still shot a limit pass shooting as the flocks left the field. Then they were gone.

Strange year for geese here as well. Not nearly as many as we typically see, not even close. However I've shot more ducks per outing than ever before by a long shot.
Totally agree on the geese. Until now. Holy moly are the geese here, my the 100s of thousands, it's nuts. It's like nothing migrated until this last Wed and now they are all here. Get ready nick, your way probably after this weekend

Interesting, I hope so usually they are starting to leave Peter out in about another couple weeks.
